Man banned from town for 10 years after stalking his former girlfriend

AN ex-boyfriend spent days stalking his former girlfriend - watching her, bombarding her with messages and secretly delivering chocolates.
The possessive behaviour came after he punched her in bed, breaking her nose, causing eye damage and requiring her to have a metal implant in her cheek.
The violence flared after a row the previous evening when he stayed overnight at her home in Scunthorpe.
They had met three months earlier in August, last year.
Jason Hemsworth, 33, formerly of Salisbury Road, Cleethorpes, admitted assault causing unlawful wounding on November 9, last year and a stalking offence, when he appeared at Grimsby Crown Court.
He was previously locked up for breach of a non-molestation order of another former partner and false imprisonment in 2022, the court heard.
Prosecuting, Samantha Laws said Hemsworth and his girlfriend were in bed at her home when he flew into a rage because she asked for a cuddle.
"At 6am on November 9, they were in bed together when she asked for a cuddle and he took exception to being disturbed," told Miss Laws.
She pulled a duvet from him and he climbed on top of her, pulled her hair and punched her in the face once.
