Council gives the green light to new 79-home plan

DIFFICULT DECISION MADE AMID WORRY OVER TRAFFIC INCREASE
A DECISION has been reached on plans for 79 homes in the Kirton-in-Lindsey area.
Outline permission for homes already existed for the site, after a planning appeal. But in December, full permission for 74 homes sought by multiple parties, including Newett Homes, was rejected by North Lincolnshire Council's planning committee.
Traffic and design layout concerns featured prominently then. The latest application to be decided on, 79 homes, was put forward by multiple applicants too, including The Strategic Land Group.
Changes to its layout after the rival application's failure were welcomed, and it was approved. The 79 homes will be made up of 38 two-bed, 36 three-bed and five four-bed homes.
Among the changes is an extra pathway to a planned local equipment play area (LEAP). Major concern about people trespassing through an existing small private road, Lane End, had featured in the other application's refusal. The new path, linking to near the site's entrance, and 1.8m high fencing behind Lane End sought to remedy this.
