NISBET'S HERE TO GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT

Having enjoyed a successful loan last season which culminated in him signing off as a Scottish Cup winner, the 28-year-old returned to Pittodrie from Millwall on a £300,000 three-year contract on transfer deadline night.

Nisbet is likely to be the Dons’ main goal threat. Two of his rivals for a centre-forward berth are Kusini Yengi, who has netted just once in six games this term, and Marko Lazetic, who came off the bench last weekend for his debut and is still finding his feet after arriving from AC Milan.

Nisbet netted 14 goals for Jimmy Thelin’s side last season — an impressive haul given that 11 of his 38 appearances were as a substitute.

And now the striker with 11 Scotland caps is determined to reignite Aberdeen, who are rooted to the foot of the Premiership table with three losses out of three and no goals scored.

Nisbet said: “I’ll have the same expectation on me as last year.

“People expect me to score, which is what I’m here to do.

“Last season when I wasn’t scoring I was told about it, which is fair enough, and I started scoring goals.

“I lived up to the expectations so it’s the same this time — scoring goals and giving a bit of leadership because we have a young group, a new group. I need to bring my experience.
