Application to convert pub into convenience store

A LANDMARK Runcorn pub could be turned into a convenience store if plans get the green light.

The Red Admiral could be converted into a convenience store

An application has been submitted to Halton Borough Council's development management committee to convert the Red Admiral pub on Boston Avenue.

The plans have been submitted on behalf of applicant Ashraf Bilal who bought the site in November and who, according to the application, operates a number of convenience stores and has links with Costcutter and Go Local retail chains.

The pub - often called ‘The Addy’ by locals - is on the corner of Boston Avenue and Birch Road.
