Should we welcome the Reform spending review?

With Reform UK in charge at Lancashire County Council, there must be days which feel like lifetimes.

Spare a thought for the leader, Stephen Atkinson, a time-served councillor and council leader in the Ribble Valley who defected to Reform, and now finds himself at the helm of one of the country's biggest county councils.

At the start of last week, Reform said it's 'department of government efficiency' team modelled on what tech billionaire Elon Musk has done in America under Donald Trump would be coming to Lancashire soon, having started in Kent.

Then the man driving the UK DOGE team Reform UK chairman Zia Yusuf quit his role in the party, putting the DOGE project into doubt.

What would this mean for Lancashire, which frankly does need to save a lot of money to remain in business?
