Mayor and mayoress for new year are announced

THE new Mayor of Rossendale has been announced as Councillor Michelle Smith for 2025/26.
-
Coun Smith will be accompanied in her civic duties throughout the year by her Mayoress, Jackie Oakes.
Speaking on her nomination at the Council's Annual Meeting on May 16, Coun Smith said: “I am honoured to be appointed Mayor of Rossendale 2025/26, and I am very much looking forward to the year ahead.
“It will be a chance to meet lots of people, groups, and charities who are working hard to make Rossendale a great place to live and work.
