I wouldn’t want to pretend to be a massive football fan, but I do like to see our local teams both professional and youth clubs do well.

I was pleased to hear that St Mirren have made it to the semifinals of the Premier Sports Cup where they will play Motherwell at Hampden.

I am sure that the whole of Renfrewshire will be wishing our local team the best of success, and have high hopes that they will make it to the final.

Over the summer, I had the chance to visit football camps in Renfrew, sponsored by Scottish Gas and delivered by St Mirren FC Foundation.
