Repair work on 'iconic' town clock is ticking along

Work to breathe new life into the “iconic” Charleston Clock Tower in Paisley is underway - progress that has been described as “very timely” by a politician.

Renfrewshire Council has commissioned minor improvements, such as painting, at the landmark which sits at the corner of Neilston Road and Stock Street.

The local authority had encountered a “number of issues” that forced it to adjust the initial timeline but the job has started in recent days.

The development was welcomed by Councillor Eddie Devine, a representative for Paisley Southeast, who is glad to see things are ticking along.
