Scottish Child payment paid to 14,000 kids

Almost 14,000 children in Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire are currently being supported by the Scottish Child Payment, new figures have revealed.

They are amongst 322,000 youngsters who are benefitting from the payment designed to tackle child poverty in Scotland.

Launched in February 2021 by the SNP Scottish Government, the Scotland-only benefit gives families with low incomes £27.15 per week per child to help with the cost of raising children.
