Renfrewshire’s tourism and events businesses look set to benefit from a new marketing push - but a Paisley organisation insists more still needs to be done.

Scottish tourism organisation VisitScotland is embarking on a national scheme after being supported by £2 million in additional funding from the Scottish Government.

Activities will target both international and domestic audiences with a renewed focus on inspiring UK visitors to explore more of Scotland throughout the year.

New official figures for the wider Glasgow area, including Renfrewshire, reveal there were an average of 2.488m overnight trips from domestic visitors (GBTS) to the Glasgow City Region in 2024 and 807,000 overnight trips from international visitors.
