BOTAFOGO want to keep Cuiabano beyond his current loan deal.

- By BRIAN DICK

That's according to Globo Esporte who say the Brazilian outfit are keen on retaining the Nottingham Forest defender when their season ends next month.

The left-back joined Botafogo from Gremio in April 2024 but was sold to the Reds last summer.

Forest signed the 22-year-old until 2029 on transfer deadline day but quickly loaned him back to the Rio de Janeiro team.

Since then he has added another 11 appearances, taking his Botafogo total to 72, with eight goals and seven assists.

However, there are only five matches left in the Brazilian top flight meaning Forest have a decision on what to do with the player in the January transfer window.

Globo claim Cuiabano “has affection for the staff and institution” at Botafogo but a decision on where he should spend 2026 is up in the air.
