Tourist attraction back in action after restoration following storm damage

A FAMILY favourite tourist attraction in North Devon is back in action after being ravaged by a storm more than five months ago.

In December, Storm Darragh battered Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park destroying wildlife habitats and the park’s landscaping.

Louisa Bartlett, head keeper at the park, said they took action quickly in the face of devastation.

“The storm tore through the centre of the park and uprooted over 30 trees, damaging several enclosures, pathways, walkways and safety barriers,” said Louisa.

“We had to urgently relocate several animal species including our wallabies, emus, black and white ruffed lemurs and penguins into temporary enclosures.”

The team began a restoration project immediately after the storm with the help of local volunteers.

“Our restoration project started immediately with our inhouse team, subcontractors and a wave of local volunteers helping with the initial clear up,’ Louisa explained.
