Luke shows clean pair of heels in Morecambe 5k

On a lovely sunny morning in Morecambe, 20 Preston Harriers turned out for this latest event in the Road Club Championships running along the promenade and back in a 5k race.

First across the finishing line, more than a minute ahead of his nearest challenger to take overall victory was Luke Suffolk in a time of 15:54, followed by Gareth Fairclough (V45) who was fourth in 18:38.

David Lea (V60) was fifth in 18:46 with Mark Lee (V60) sixth in 18:53 close on his heels.

Other notable performances from the Harriers men were: Andrew Tranter (V55) 20:55, David Flitcroft (V60) 22:07, Nick Johns 22:17 (V40), Alan Appleby (V75) 25:26 and David Link (V55) 26:10.
