Elderly living with bedbugs blight for more than a year

Elderly and vulnerable people have been living with a yearlong bedbug infestation - leading to Preston MP Sir Mark Hendrick to call for the problem to finally be fixed.

Sir Mark first raised the issue of bedbugs at Clifton House in August 2024 but 15 months on, the issue persists and the MP says some of those in the home are living without furniture and carpets due to the infestation.

He is now calling on Places for People, which runs the home, to implement action to tackle the issue and ensure there are no further infestations.
