In November Robert joined William during the royal’s four-day climate-focussed tour of South Africa that culminated in the fourth instalment of the Earthshot awards.

The pair were pictured going on a ramble in the shadow of the iconic Table Mountain that overlooks Cape Town to admire the area's beauty and biodiversity.

Paying tribute to William — dad to George, 11, Charlotte, 10, and Louis, 7 - Robert said the prince’s use of his profile aims to “make the world a better place”.

He added: “He knows he can put a spotlight on people making a difference. He takes this responsibility very seriously, and he has a great ability to direct attention to where it needs to be.
