FOOTBALLERS tend to have nicknames but I've never come across that of Caoimhín Kelleher. Maybe he should be called Kryptonite as football's Supermen struggle when faced with him.
-
Just look at his last three penalty saves. On Saturday, he denied Cristiano Ronaldo with a superb reaction to volley the ball away from danger.
Last week, we were told that Ronaldo is so successful that he's football's first billionaire.
Before Ronaldo, Kelleher's last penalty save was against another Portuguese player, Bruno Fernandes, with the Corkman besting him a couple of weeks ago when Brentford beat Manchester United. It was reported recently that a Saudi club had bid €115m for Fernandes.
Who did Kelleher defy before Fernandes? Step forward, Kylian Mbappé. The Real Madrid attacker is one of the most decorated players in the game.
It's understandable why he left Anfield as he wanted first team football, but Kelleher is far better than Brentford.
I genuinely think he's one of the best goalkeepers in the world and should be playing for a top Champions League club.

ARSENAL cemented their grip on fifth with a comfortable 4-1 win at struggling LEICESTER Alessia Russo and two-goal Stina Blackstenius (inset) stood out in a third straight win for the Gunners.
