NO THREE & EASY FOR REBEL LADIES

TWELVE months ago, Cork were hot favourites but needed to score the last three points to prevail by that margin.

They are now chasing a three-in-a-row that has eluded the county seven times since the glory of the 1970-73 four-in-a-row outfit.

It is the third consecutive meeting between the pair in a national final, the previous two having gone the way of the Rebels, with the Very League Division 1A decider a one-sided damp squib.

Yet Galway are certainly in a better vein of form than they were going into last year's final and have proven their capacity to deliver on the big day under Cathal Murray (inset), who is very astute tactically, time and again.
