MATT Crooks admits it wasn't pretty at times as Hull City fought to earn the point which kept them in the Championship.

It wasn't football utopia, but we got the job done - Crooks

Crooks was the hero when he prodded in from close range after Gustavo Puerta's corner was flicked on by Joao Pedro, giving the visitors the early lead at Portsmouth.

Though the hosts equalised in the second half, City managed the game well to earn the point which kept them up and sent Luton crashing to a second successive relegation.

"Just relief, really," Crooks told the Mail when asked to express how he felt. "We got over the line in the end, we made it really difficult for ourselves. I think, over the course of the six months that I've been here (it's been the same). I remember when we beat Sheff United away, I said about backing up the results, and we've not done that all season. But listen, we managed to get enough to take the line.
