26-yr-old NRI held for hit-and-run incident that killed Fauja Singh

A 26-year-old Canada-based man has been arrested in connection with the July 14 hit-and-run case that claimed the life of veteran marathon runner Fauja Singh, police said on Wednesday.
The accused, identified as Amritpal Singh Dhillon, allegedly drove the SUV that hit the 114-year-old Singh while he was crossing the road in Beas village in Jalandhar district, police said.
The accused was arrested on Tuesday night after police identified the vehicle, a white Toyota Fortuner, using CCTV footage, officials said, adding that the vehicle has been impounded.
"Dhillon was arrested from his house in Kartarpur on Tuesday night," Jalandhar rural SSP Harvinder Singh Virk said.
