From Covid weight gain to Crohn’s, Jan fought back with nutrition and fitness

The turning point for Jan Wolfs, a 34-year-old American who has called Dubai home since 2019, came during the Covid lockdown.

At 189cm and tipping the scales at 115kg, Jan recalls: "I just felt fat and unhealthy." But it was a diagnosis of Crohn’s disease that hit hard. Faced with a chronic condition, he decided to overhaul his lifestyle.

Today, Jan is 17kg lighter and is not done yet. With intermittent fasting, regular workouts, and a mindset rooted in balance, he is working towards his ideal weight of 92-94kg. But more than the numbers, it’s about how he feels: Stronger, healthier and more in control.
