Sandi Starfish helping to keep children safe in case of an emergency

A SKEGNESS police inspector has shared one thing that families caring for young children or vulnerable adults can do this summer to help the emergency services.

Jacky Evans has been with Lincolnshire Police for 20 years and has been working in the Skegness area on and off since 2012.

She said: "I just love it. I started my career in the west of the county before taking a promotion posting to Skegness.

"I absolutely love everything about the coast and Skegness. It's just a brilliant place to work. Even when the chips are down, there seems to be a positive vibe about the place."

During the winter months, Skegness has around 20,000 people in the town, but during the summer this increases to around 250,000 people.

Inspector Evans said: "We have something like 36,000 caravans across 262 sites. In winter, they are practically shut, so we see a massive increase in visitors in the summer time."
