Horner on Red alert over Max future

CHRISTIAN HORNER is desperate to get his floundering Red Bull team up to speed amid growing concerns they could lose Max Verstappen.

Red Bull’s performance in Sunday’s Bahrain Grand Prix was dismal, with the Dutchman's best efforts in a car well off the pace only good enough for sixth place.

That was more than half a minute down on winner Oscar Piastri of McLaren, while team-mate Yuki Tsunoda trailed home in ninth.

Verstappen has a contract until 2028, but it contains performance clauses and paddock rumours suggest they could become active this summer.
