McPake admits baby daughter has helped to revive his career

JOSH McPAKE reckons baby daughter Charlie has helped change his attitude for the better.

The St Johnstone winger is a player transformed this season. Yet 12 months ago he was off to an awful start with Saints and out the picture.

Simo Valakari got a grip of the former Rangers starlet after no one wanted to sign him in January.

And McPake admits fatherhood has also helped his revival. He said: "I became a dad last October.

"It time was a tough time in my career because I wasn't playing and I was a bit worried about what was happening.

"As soon as Charlie was born, something in my head just clicked. I thought: 'I need to do this for her, my family.'
