Nibset: Chairman was saying deal was done in Romania before I'd even heard about it

- BY ANTHONY EVANS

KEVIN NISBET was chuffed to seal a deadline-day return to Aberdeen but admits he was caught unawares when chairman Dave Cormack jumped the gun on his move from Millwall.

The Dons landed the Scotland international in a bargain £300,000 deal after he banged in 14 goals during a loan spell in the Granite City last season.

The decision to rejoin the Reds was easy but Nisbet was surprised when Cormack went public about the pending transfer before the club faced FCSB in the second leg of their Europa League playoff in Bucharest.

He said: “It was an easy decision. It was quite late in the window that it started to happen. Dave was telling people in Romania that I was signing but I didn't know anything about it! It caught me by surprise as I phoned my agent and he didn't hear anything about it.

“It wasn't until the Sunday that it started getting traction.
