Village near 'Wonder of Wales' where yobs have been running wild

Police respond over arson, threats, assaults and criminal damage

YOBS are running wild in a village close to one of the 'Wonders of Wales' - with police promising to take action.

In recent weeks police say they have seen a significant spike in demand for various crimes in Acrefair, one of the villages around the world famous Pontcysyllte aqueduct.

This has ranged from criminal damage and public order offences to arson, threats and assaults. Another problem is off-road bikes being driven in an anti-social manner in the Plas Madoc area of the village.

Police have now launched an operation to crackdown on the issues facing the village. This will see an increased officer presence in the village.

They asked parents and carers to play their part by speaking to young people about anti-social behaviour.
