Trainee in commando yomp faint sues MoD

AN ex-Royal Marine trainee whose military career ended when he overheated on a march is suing the Ministry of Defence for £236,000.

Charlie Gould, then 23, collapsed on a yomp - an intense march carrying heavy gear - across Dartmoor in June 2020 as he tried to earn a Green Beret.

His lawyer has told the High Court he suffered heatstroke and was left to recover in a safety vehicle for hours, though emergency care was only a 30-minute drive away.
