LUCAS AKINS will have to wait for his return to league action following his release from prison.

The 36-year-old MANSFIELD striker (above) featured for an hour in the EFL Trophy against Newcastle Under-21s in midweek after serving six months for causing the death of a cyclist.

Adrian Daniel, 33, died 10 days after he was struck by acar being driven by Akins in March 2022.
