Cop admits blackmailing suspect over indecent pics

A POLICE officer posed as a paedophile hunter to try and blackmail a man arrested for possessing indecent images of children.

PC Marie Thompson, 29, quizzed the man, who was released pending further investigation of his digital devices.

But he received a “paedophile hunter's” email from an encrypted address demanding £3,500 to ensure information was not disclosed.
