Star leaves beloved garden to downsize
ALAN Titchmarsh has admitted he wept when he had to say goodbye to his beloved garden as he moved out of his home of 23 years.
The TV gardener, 76, said he still feels ‘‘fortysomething’’ but is leaving his Georgian house because its upkeep was becoming too much as he grows older.
Titchmarsh has revealed he and his wife Alison have found a modern, smaller property, set in one and a half acres.
He wrote in BBC Gardener’s World: ‘‘I cannot imagine loving a garden as much as the one I am leaving. And now that I come to write these words, I freely confess that my eyes are full of tears.
