Vardy, 37, was Leicester's hero again as he scored a priceless equaliser and outshone Tottenham's £65million new boy Dominic Solanke. The star of the Foxes' miracle 2016 title triumph provided more magic, but dominant Spurs will wonder how they did not win.

There was a harsh lesson for Ange Postecoglou's men. If you do not take your chances and kill a game, it will come back to haunt you. Tottenham were so in control after Pedro Porro's opener, but Leicester showed as much fight to earn a point as they did in that famous season eight years ago.
