A STREET cleaner so popular his community raised £3,000 to give him the holiday of a lifetime has been ordered not to accept it by bosses.
Paul Spiers, 63, has been working in Beckenham, 'south London, since 2017 and is much loved by residents Who know him as a massive Elvis fan.
Last week he mentioned to estate agent Lisa Knight that it was his birthday and he was saving for a holiday to Portugal.
So Lisa, who struck up a friendship with Paul through their shared love of the rock 'n' roller, started a fundraising campaign to pay for the trip.
She called him "an integral part of our Beckenham village, adored by all online and watched in astonishment as the donations topped £3,000.
