Small boat migrants outstrip UK military
Daily Express
|September 12, 2025
THE number of small boat arrivals has surged past the total number of personnel in the British Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force.
Research compiled by Migration Watch revealed 181,329 asylum seekers have crossed the Channel since 2018. This is compared to the 180,779 in the Army, Royal Navy, Royal Marines and Royal Air Force.
Migration Watch confirmed their data only included arrivals up to Sunday. Since then, another 674 migrants arrived on nine boats on Tuesday, increasing the gap further.
The provisional total for the year so far is 30,838.
