Calls to rescue neglected lynx from warzone

AN URGENT appeal has been launched to save a young lynx in war-torn Ukraine and bring her to safety in the UK.

The Big Cat Sanctuary, based in Ashford, Kent, hopes to rescue Ursa, a female Eurasian lynx.

It is calling on the public to help fund the rescue and care of Ursa, who was found living in appalling conditions after being illegally kept as a pet.

Now housed at a rescue centre on the outskirts of Kyiv, Ursa remains in danger as bombs continue to fall nearby.
