Dominant members of primate troops miss out on restful nights say researchers who found that higher-ranking baboons suffer from fragmented rest, not helped by wakeful bedfellows.

The Swansea University team explained that communal sleeping for animals can offer protection. But, much like in humans, close neighbours can disturb each another, affecting the quality of sleep.
