Farmers take tax raid fury to supermarkets

THOUSANDS of farmers descended on supermarkets yesterday to tell the public about the impact of Rachel Reeves's inheritance tax raid.

Morrisons and Asda have backed the sector by demanding the Government pause its planned agricultural property relief changes which farmers claim will damage them.

Asda yesterday said: "We have been raising our concerns with government and will be supporting the National Farmers' Union's campaign calling for a pause in the implementation of APR to allow for proper consultation."

Farmers parked their tractors outside retailers where they spoke with shoppers.

This is the latest demonstration by the sector which has taken to the streets of London to voice its anger at the Chancellor.
