Zelensky warns the world it cannot 'allow everything' to go to tyrant's plan
VOLODYMYR Zelensky has begged the world not to sell out Ukraine to the Russians.
He said allies should refuse to "allow everything to go according to Putin's plan" after Donald Trump shocked NATO by revealing he had launched private peace talks with the Russian dictator.
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer welcomed the prospect of ending the three-year war sparked by Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
But he told the US president that Ukraine must be "at the heart" of any negotiations.
And Mr Zelensky demanded a seat at the table, saying: "We cannot accept it, as an independent country, any agreements without us."
He has warned world leaders against trusting Putin's claims of readiness to end the war.
A meeting of NATO defence ministers in Brussels yesterday was overshadowed by Mr Trump's announcement that he and Vladimir Putin have agreed to stop the bloodshed following a "highly productive" 90-minute phone call.
The US president then called Mr Zelensky "to inform him".Mr Trump plans to continue peace talks with Putin during a face-to-face meeting in Saudi Arabia on a date yet to be set.
However, last night he said Russian delegates would attend today's Munich Security Conference, adding Ukraine would have a place at the negotiating table.
