Coca-Cola leads the 'dirty dozen' of plastic polluters

Twelve firms accounted for two-thirds of all packaging left at beauty spots and on streets, the charity Surfers Against Sewage said.

Citizen scientists litter-picked 30,745 items in the year to June 2022 to June 2023 and 36 per cent came from all brands.

Coca-Cola was responsible for 17 per cent, with McDonald's and PepsiCo, which also makes Doritos and Ruffles crisps, second and third.

These three made up 37 per cent of branded waste.
