Codeta set to introduce a new card trip payment system

The Cape Organisation for the Democratic Taxi Association (Codeta) in Khayelitsha is planning to introduce a new electronic payment system to make commuting easier and improve financial monitoring within the taxi industry.
Codeta spokesperson Makhosandile Tumana described the new system, known as Pay SA, as a way to accommodate drivers and commuters. Passengers will no longer need to carry cash as they will be able to use their bank cards to pay for taxi fares.
