NO disciplinary procedures will take place after an investigation by Somerset Football Association found claims that a homophobic slur was used during a football match were “not proven”.

In September SomersetLive reported how there were allegations that a homophobic slur was used during a match between Chew Magna FC and Axbridge United FC. The incident saw the match between the teams, both of which play in the Somerset County League Division 3, abandoned at halftime after the alleged slur was aimed at a Chew Magna player.

The incident took place at the Chew Magna home ground near Clutton and was referred to the Somerset FA, which carried out an investigation.
