Young farm team lifts top winter fair trophy for county

YOUNG farmers from Staffordshire lifted the top trophy at the 175th English Winter Fair at the County Showground.
The Young Farmers’ Club (YFC) was awarded the Overall Team Cup after a strong showing in the annual Stock and Carcase Judging Competitions.
More than 150 young farmers from 19 teams across England and Wales travelled to the County Showground November 16, for one of the biggest judging events in the YFC calendar.
Staffordshire YFC claimed the cup with 660 points, ahead of Glamorgan YFC on 628, and joint third-placed Gloucestershire and Shropshire YFC, both finishing on 625.
