Fiona Lawson with eight-year-old son Isaac, who has leukaemia
Running coach Fiona Leatham, from Shropshire, took on the incredible challenge with her partner, Simon Phillips, raising £1,000 for Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity and a national children's organisation. The six-day route spanned 150 miles from Tadworth, Surrey, where her grandson, Isaac, received rehabilitation, to the front doors of Birmingham Children's Hospital, where his life was saved.
In October 2024, 12-month-old Isaac had been feeling poorly with several coughs and colds. He was treated at his local hospital after a suspected bacterial and viral infection on his lungs and was later sent home with a two-week course of antibiotics.
