I'm accident-prone... I don't know why I agreed to do Dancing On Ice

COMEDIAN JOSH JONES TELLS MARION MCMULLEN HIS REALITY DEBUT WAS DESTINED FOR DISASTER

Were you gutted at having to quit ITV's Dancing On Ice earlier this year after injuring your ankle in rehearsals?

All my family were concerned when I went on that show. I just wanted to challenge myself and ended up injuring myself.

I am accident-prone. I've got metal screws in my arm, I've broken both my arms and I got my finger chopped off. I've broken quite a lot of bones and stuff, so I don't know why I agreed to do Dancing On Ice. I'm happy I just ended up with a twisted ankle really. It could have been a lot worse.

I started the competition with Swan Lake because I wanted kind of a gimmick to get me through because I think I was one of the weakest skaters. But I don't know how many gimmicks I could have come up with if I had stayed.

Had you ever skated before?

I'd never skated before so it was really scary. When they auditioned me, I was up in Edinburgh for the Fringe, so they sent someone up to Scotland and we went to an ice rink and they booked everything out for half an hour. It was next to a Nando's window so people were eating their chicken watching me really struggle to get on the ice.

Once people know you are doing the show, they tell you about an injury they have had, like 'Oh, I broke my face on the ice.' Honestly I'm a bit relieved to now be back on stage. It feels nice and comfortable.

How did your new tour come about?
