Drink-driving arrest after man killed in crash horror

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after a pedestrian was killed in a crash in Sutton Coldfield.

Police said the pedestrian, a man in his late 70s, was struck by a car in Thornhill Road, Streetly, just before 6pm on Saturday.

He was found with fatal injuries.

A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and drink driving following the tragedy.

He remained in custody for questioning yesterday.
