Rob proud of side despite own-goals nightmare at Emirates

A devastated Yerson Mosquera of Wolves after his injury-time own goal Unhappy Wolves boss Rob Edwards

The Gunners secured a dramatic stoppage-time 2-1 victory against the basement boys Mikel Arteta’s players were off the pace for much of the encounter at the Emirates Stadium, but their luck was in after 70 minutes when Wolves keeper Sam Johnstone diverted Bukayo Saka’s corner into his own net.

However, Wolves struck back in the 90th minute through substitute Tolu Arokodare to leave the home side stunned.

But a fortuitous Arsenal regained the lead in the fourth minute of added time when Yerson Mosquera, under pressure from substitute Gabriel Jesus, headed Saka’s cross past a stunned Johnstone.

Wolves remain on two points following their ninth successive Premier League defeat.

Manager Rob Edwards, who has now lost all five of his matches since he joined from Middlesbrough last month, said: “I am not going to complain about luck. I am proud of the lads tonight, but we lost the game.

“It is another defeat and that is what hurts. The dressing room is flat. But I don’t see a group of men that have given up so we need to keep going.

“The lads gave everything tonight, but the bottom line is we lost another game of football.

“That's why Arsenal are where they are, they found a way and we also found a way to help them.
