ALL-ROUND EFFORTS ACROSS TEAM PUTS VISITORS HE SWORD
A COMBINATION of a solid batting display and some pin-point bowling steered Barnt Green to a convincing 197-run victory over Cherry Hill Road visitors Wolverhampton in Premier One of the Birmingham & District Premier League.
The hosts were put into bat and relished the conditions with their Worcestershire openers, Ed Pollock and Henry Cullen, putting on 92 for the first wicket.
Pollock’s rapid 55 came off just 33 balls and Cullen's 69 off 59 balls Barnt Green made quick progress.
Jacques Banton (62) and Dan Meredith (59) helped the home side post 307-9 at the end of their 50 overs. Wolverhampton’s William Jones took 4-41 from nine overs and there were also wickets for Sam Ellis, Robert Jones and Asad Ullah.
Banton and Lloyd Pope then impressed with the ball to skittle out their visitors for just 110 in the 24th over. Banton’s 4-47 came off ten overs while Pope took 4-25 in six overs.
