McCabe wants to progress in cup

Airdrie player-boss Rhys McCabe has set his sights on getting out of Premier Sports Cup Group C, having stunned Premiership side Dundee in their opener.

A Chris Mochrie strike earned the Diamonds all three points at Dens Park and they continued their campaign at home to Bonnyrigg Rose last night (Tuesday), looking to progress for a third successive season.

McCabe's side then have a weekend off, before visiting Montrose next Wednesday and round off their campaign at home to Alloa on July 26.

And the midfielder told club media: "We'll be looking to put in a strong performance, and if we play our style, are ruthless and take our chances, and play well on the day, then I think we're a match for anyone.
