A PRIMARY school where children feel 'valued through the compassion and consideration that staff show them' has received a glowing Ofsted report.

St Charles’ RC School in Rishton was visited by inspectors in March who praised the school for its 'ambitious curriculum' and the pupils for being 'polite and considerate to each other and to adults.

The Knowles Street based school was awarded a 'Good' rating for each category; quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management and early years provision.

The report which was published on May 16 reads: "Pupils bask in the warm relationships that lie at the heart this school.

"They feel valued through the compassion and consideration that staff show them.

"A nurturing and caring atmosphere permeates the school.

"Pupils are assured that they will be supported well if they have any concerns."

Inspectors describe students as 'charismatic and confident citizens' who state this is a school where 'everyone is welcome!
