In 2005, a fresh-faced 16-year-old by the name of Rory McIlroy announced himself on the world stage when the promising young golfer shot a course-record round of 61 at the Royal Portrush Golf Club in Northern Ireland.
Fast forward 20 years, and the five-time major winner returns to his home-country course on Thursday for the first round of this year’s Open Championship.
