Not all is as it seems as the DC superhero series Peacemaker returns for its long-awaited second season this week.

Back in 2022, the show's first run concluded with the titular anti-hero (played by John Cena) finally confronting and killing his abusive white-supremacist father Auggie (Robert Patrick), as well as saving Earth from being invaded by parasitic alien butterflies.

But as we rejoin Peacemaker and his beloved baldeagle companion Eagly, he's feeling far from victorious...
