As the stars gather for the SAG Awards, Jane Fonda steals the show with an empowering speech

fierce and fabulous at the 31st annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards in Los Angeles, Jane Fonda assured her fellow actors that, despite being honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award, her career is nowhere near done.

"Your enthusiasm," the 87-year-old actress told the star-studded audience, "makes this seem, I don't know, less like a late twilight of my life and more like a 'Go, girl! Kick ass!'"

Recognized for her roles in films such as On Golden Pond, Klute, 9 to 5 and, more recently, Book Club: The Next Chapter, the Oscar winner is also revered for her activism in Hollywood and beyond - so it was no surprise to anyone when her acceptance speech got political.
